Basketball Recap: South Lamar Skates Past Pickens County with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask South Lamar). They really took it to the Pickens County Tornadoes for the full four quarters, racking up a 51-23 victory. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Stallions just coasted through the last quarter.

Leading South Lamar to victory were Anna Kate McAdams and Meagan Brock. McAdams posted 11 points and six steals, while Brock almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine boards. Brock is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least nine every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Swink, who earned eight points along with five rebounds and three steals.

South Lamar smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 17 offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

South Lamar's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Pickens County, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

South Lamar will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Hamilton at 10:00 a.m. on December 27th. Pickens County will take on Gordo in a holiday battle at at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
