The Union Yellowjackets and the Pisgah Dragons will round out the year against one another at at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Union has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since the fifth.
Last Tuesday, Union was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 46-42 to Nanih Waiya. While losing is never fun, the Yellowjackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 223rd, while the Warriors are ranked 107th).

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Gracyn Tillman, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 boards. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (six). Another player making a difference was Rymia Craft, who posted 15 points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists.
Even though they lost, Union was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Pisgah didn't have too much trouble with Wesson on Tuesday as they won 50-33.
Union better keep an eye on Laylah Johnson. She was instrumental in Pisgah's win, almost dropping a triple-double on 14 points, 16 boards, and nine assists. Johnson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last 12 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Madysen Washington, who had 13 points and four steals.
Union's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Pisgah, their victory bumped their record up to 14-1.
Union didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Pisgah in their previous matchup back in November of 2019, but they still walked away with a 43-37 win. Does Union have another victory up their sleeve, or will Pisgah turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
