After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lincoln, Wheatland was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 51-33 win over the Colfax Falcons. The high-scoring effort was just what the Pirates needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Wheatland's defensive line made their presence known, laying out the QB four times. Leading the way was Tyler Rivers with two sacks. Another thorn in Colfax's side was Colton Burns, who picked up a sack and made 12 total tackles.

Wheatland's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Colfax, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wheatland will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Marysville at 7:15 p.m. on the 17th.
