Newsome has gone a perfect 4-0 against King recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Wolves will take on the Lions at 7:00 p.m. Newsome's pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so King's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Newsome fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against East Bay on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Indians by a score of 6-5. The Wolves' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Newsome got a good showing from ROBBIE DIPIETRO, who tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. That's the fewest earned runs DIPIETRO has allowed since back in February.

On the hitting side, OCEAN COZART and Kaden Aguiar stepped up to the plate in a big way. COZART scored a run while going 1-for-3, while Aguiar went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one triple.

Meanwhile, King entered their tilt with Chamberlain on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Storm. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

The team relied heavily on Torey Thomas, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicholas Brown, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one double.

King pushed their record up to 8-11 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Newsome, their loss dropped their record down to 16-4.

Newsome beat King 4-0 when the teams last played back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
