Baseball Game Preview: Tri-Central Trojans vs. Sheridan Blackhawks

Tri-Central is 2-8 against Sheridan since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Trojans will take on the Blackhawks at 5:00 p.m. Tri-Central has given up an average of 9.4 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Tri-Central is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against Clinton Prairie, falling 11-1.

Sheridan had taken Carroll down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. The Blackhawks lost 13-2 to the Cougars. The Blackhawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sheridan got a good showing from Tanner Dawson, who tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Sheridan saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was John Ugalde, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double. That hit was Ugalde's first of the season.

Tri-Central's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Sheridan, their loss dropped their record down to 8-13.

Tri-Central was able to grind out a solid victory over Sheridan when the teams last played on May 1st, winning 12-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
