Soccer Game Preview: Niwot vs. Severance

Niwot is a perfect 4-0 against Severance since June of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Niwot will take on Severance at 6:30 p.m. Niwot's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Niwot was handed a four-goal defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Saturday. They never let Steamboat Springs get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Niwot were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Severance). They put the hurt on Fort Morgan with a sharp 3-0 win last Thursday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Niwot's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2-1. As for Severance, their record is now 3-1-1.

Everything went Niwot's way against Severance when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Niwot made off with a 4-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Niwot since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
