Softball Game Preview: Chenango Valley Warriors vs. Sidney Sabers

The Chenango Valley Warriors will face off against the Sidney Sabers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sidney took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Chenango Valley, who comes in off a win.

On Thursday, Chenango Valley earned an 8-5 win over Windsor Central. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.

Abby Cron spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, Mackenzie Hubenthal was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Sydney Keough, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Sidney was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 21-9 to Waverly.

Chenango Valley's victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Sidney, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.

Chenango Valley couldn't quite finish off Sidney in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 and fell 6-4. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
