Baseball Recap: Barrington's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Barrington barely beat Schaumburg the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Fillies/Broncos blew past the Saxons 12-2 on Monday. The win was familiar territory for the Fillies/Broncos, who have now won three games in a row.

Will Renshaw looked comfortable as he struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Jackson Cavaliero was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Juilan Ashley-Friedman, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Barrington always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .643. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matches.

Barrington's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Schaumburg, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9.

Barrington will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Saxons: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
