If Parkland wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Burges, they should've done a better job of containing Anthony Rubio. The Mustangs took down the Matadors 64-47 on Thursday thanks in part to Rubio, who almost dropped a double-double with 25 points and nine rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 42.9% three-point shooting accuracy.

Parkland's loss came despite strong showings from Jordan Martinez and Jamal Rocha. Martinez posted 14 points along with five boards and three steals, while Rocha went 6-for-13 to rack up 13 points and three blocks. Adrian Morrissey Jr. also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assists of the season.

Burges' record is now 3-1. As for Parkland, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Burges didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 63-40 win against Del Valle on the 21st. As for Parkland, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 48-28 defeat against Montwood on the 21st.
