Soccer Game Preview: San Diego vs. Scripps Ranch

The San Diego Cavers will venture away from home to challenge the Scripps Ranch Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Scripps Ranch took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on San Diego, who comes in off a win.

Scripps Ranch will be up against a hot San Diego team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. San Diego walked away with a 2-0 victory over Cathedral Catholic on Thursday. Given the Cavers' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 101st, while the Dons are ranked 301st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Scripps Ranch has been on a difficult stretch since their win on January 16. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Augustine on Thursday. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Falcons haven't been shut out since back in December of 2024.

San Diego pushed their record up to 9-5-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored nine goals over those three games. As for Scripps Ranch, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 1-1-4 and their overall record down to 7-5-5.
