Volleyball Recap: Mar Vista Comes Up Short

Mar Vista had lost eight straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 6-25 to make it nine. They lost 3-0 to the Sweetwater Red Devils. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Red Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on April 11th.

As for Sweetwater, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-10 record this season. They not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 11th (when they won 3-0).

Sergio Salazar had an outrageously good game as he had seven digs, three blocks, and two aces. Salazar is also crushing it when it comes to assists: he's posted at least 12 every time he's taken the court this season.

Mar Vista has already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Montgomery on the 2nd. As for Sweetwater, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Mater Dei Catholic on the 2nd.
