Basketball Recap: Aliquippa Falls Short of South Allegheny in the Playoffs

Aliquippa and South Allegheny squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Aliquippa had to settle for second. They took a 36-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gladiators. The contest marked the Quips' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

With the defeat, Aliquippa broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 22-6. As for South Allegheny, their victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 23-3.

Aliquippa does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for South Allegheny, they will challenge West Catholic at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. West Catholic will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something South Allegheny surely won't give up without a fight.
