Basketball Recap: Rising Sun Comes Up Short

Rising Sun lost against Oldenburg Academy back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Rising Sun Shiners might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Oldenburg Academy Twisters an easy 55-31 victory. The matchup marked the Shiners' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the loss, Rising Sun still got an impressive performance from Brody Morris, who posted 13 points. That was a full 41.9% of Rising Sun's points, marking the sixth time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points.

Rising Sun's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Oldenburg Academy, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.

Rising Sun wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 59-48 defeat against Trimble County on the 27th. As for Oldenburg Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 50-46 loss against Seton Catholic on the 27th.
