Basketball Recap: Derrick White's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Social Circle over Parkview

On Saturday, the Social Circle Redskins opened the new year with a less-than-successful 56-43 loss to the Parkview Panthers. The Redskins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Social Circle lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Derrick White, who posted 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylon Dennis, who scored six points in addition to five boards and four steals.

Even though they lost, Social Circle smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Social Circle's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Parkview, their victory bumped their record up to 2-14.

Social Circle wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 67-61 win against McNair on the 7th. As for Parkview, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 69-42 loss against Peachtree Ridge on the 7th.
