Basketball Recap: Smith Center Falls Short of Phillipsburg in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Smith Center can now relate to. They lost 44-23 to the Phillipsburg Panthers on Wednesday. The game marked the Redmen's lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Kayln Ifland and Leah Mckelvey certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Ifland posted four points and six boards, while Mckelvey earned nine points.

Smith Center has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season. The victory was the tenth in a row for Phillipsburg, bringing their record for this year to 19-3.

As of now, neither Smith Center nor Phillipsburg have any future games scheduled.
