Basketball Recap: Moscow Comes Up Short

Moscow was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 59-46 to the Deerfield Spartans. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 68-26 back in December of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Deerfield to victory, but perhaps none more so than Colten Musil, who went 9 for 21 en route to 20 points in addition to eight boards and five steals. Michael Lira was another key player, dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds.

Moscow's record now sits at 0-9. As for Deerfield, their win bumped their record up to 7-9.

Moscow will face off against Minneola on Friday. As for Deerfield, they will be playing at home against Syracuse at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Syracuse's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six games.
