Football Recap: Vinicius Silva and Dylan Gold Lead the Defense for Framingham Win

Framingham won against Braintree last Friday with 29 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Flyers put the hurt on the Newton North Tigers with a sharp 29-7 victory. The Flyers not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since October 25, 2024 (when they won 46-7).

Nicholas Nascimento Duarte produced another solid effort rushing for 305 yards and three TDs while picking up 9.5 yards per carry. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 125 rushing yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Framingham was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 343 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Framingham didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Vinicius Silva and Dylan Gold. With that strong performance, Gold is now averaging an impressive 1.2 defended passes per game.

The win got Framingham back to even at 2-2. As for Newton North, their loss dropped their record down to 2-3.

Framingham will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Durfee at 2:00 p.m. on the 18th. As for Newton North, they will be playing at home against Needham at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
