Basketball Recap: Chrisman Falls to Casey-Westfield in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Chrisman had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. The contest between the Cardinals and the Casey-Westfield Warriors didn't end well, with the Cardinals falling 36-19. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Chrisman lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Taylor Jones, who posted seven points and ten boards. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last eight games she's played dating back to last season. Jaidyn Alexander was another key player, putting up five points.

Lucy Moore was the offensive standout of the matchup as she went 8-for-20 en route to 16 points and five steals. That's the most steals she has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Julia Eckerty, who had eight points in addition to seven boards and six assists.

Casey-Westfield has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, Chrisman won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Casey-Westfield, they will challenge Arcola at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
