Softball Recap: Jonathan Alder Comes Up Short

Jonathan Alder dropped to 12-10 on Saturday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They lost 9-0 to the Kenton Ridge Cougars. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Pioneers haven't been shut out since back in April.

As for Kenton Ridge, their record is now 25-0. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 20 contests by six runs or more this season.

For Kenton Ridge's part, not much got past Ivee Rastatter, who gave up just two hits and racked up 13 Ks to keep Jonathan Alder off the board. Rastatter has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Brenna Fyffe was incredible, firing off two home runs, four runs, and three RBI while going 4-for-4. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2 runs per game. Another player making a difference was JJ Davis, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Jonathan Alder does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Kenton Ridge, they will welcome Meadowdale at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
