Basketball Recap: Piper Piles Up the Points Against West

Piper waltzed into their match on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the West Chargers 66-20. The Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 20 points or more this season.

Several Chargers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Imani McGlory, who posted five points and three steals. McGlory is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last nine games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney VanDyke, who had five points and ten boards.

Piper's victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points over those games. As for West, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-11.

Piper has already played their next contest, a 71-5 win against Turner on the 11th. As for West, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 56-40 victory against Lansing on the 11th.
