Soccer Game Preview: Kennedy vs. Manual

The Kennedy Commanders will head out on the road to challenge the Manual Thunderbolts at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kennedy's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for seven straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

On Friday, Kennedy didn't have quite enough to beat Denver North and fell 2-1. While losing is never fun, Kennedy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado soccer rankings (they are ranked 194th, while Denver North are ranked 39th).

Meanwhile, Manual had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 goals) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Eagles. Two seems to be a good number for Manual as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of goals in their previous game.

Edgar Salas and Gabriel Ruiz scored both of Manual's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 11 goals.

Manual's win bumped their record up to 4-1-1. As for Kennedy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6-1.
