Basketball Recap: Keys Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Keys took on Howe on Tuesday. The Keys Cougars took a 41-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Howe Lions. The Cougars were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lions earlier this season, when they won 69-55.

It was another big night for Kadynce Delt, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten boards for Howe. The dominant performance also gave Delt a new career-high in blocks (five). Josey Peterson was another key player, putting up five points and six rebounds.

Keys' defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 18-5. As for Howe, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-7.

Keys does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Howe, they will welcome Wilburton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Howe is facing Wilburton at the right time seeing as Wilburton is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
