Soccer Recap: Excelsior Charter Comes Up Short

Excelsior Charter managed to keep up with Riverside Prep until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Excelsior Charter Eagles lost 3-0 to the Riverside Prep Silver Knights. Having soared to a lofty five goals in the game before, the Eagles' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Excelsior Charter's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Riverside Prep, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Excelsior Charter will head out to challenge Academy for Academic Excellence at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Riverside Prep, they will venture away from home to face off against Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.4 goals per game this season.
