Football Recap: Jacob Butler's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Long Island Lutheran over Episcopal Academy

Long Island Lutheran played a tough contest on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 40-14 to the Episcopal Academy Churchmen.

Long Island Lutheran lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jacob Butler, who picked up 99 receiving yards and one touchdown. His longest reception was for an incredible 80 yards. Long Island Lutheran also got a significant boost from Madison Murrell, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 118 yards.

Long Island Lutheran now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Episcopal Academy, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Long Island Lutheran wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 34-24 loss against Riverdale Baptist on the 27th. As for Episcopal Academy, they have also already played their next matchup, a 27-6 victory against Blair Academy on the 27th.
