Baseball Recap: Coleman Takes a Loss

Coleman had lost three straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 2-7 to make it four. They lost 10-2 to the Breckenridge Huskies. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Coleman saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Travis Murray, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

As for Breckenridge, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-8-2. The game marked their most dominant win of the season.

On Breckenridge's side, Gavin Corbat was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and not a single walk). Those nine strikeouts gave Corbat a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, earning one run and two stolen bases.

In other batting news, Keegan Suhr was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Dylan Davenport was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coleman will take on Fulton at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Breckenridge, they will face off against Montabella at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Huskies are facing the Mustangs at the right time seeing as the Mustangs are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
