Basketball Recap: Corpus Christi Moody Comes Up Short

Corpus Christi Moody was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They took a 49-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vanguard Academy Rembrandt Spartans.

Vanguard Academy Rembrandt's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Evan Morales led the charge by dropping a double-double on 12 points and 11 boards. That's the most boards Morales has posted since back in November of 2023. Gilardo Perez was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on ten points and nine steals.

Corpus Christi Moody's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Vanguard Academy Rembrandt, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.

Corpus Christi Moody wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, an 86-38 loss against Aransas Pass on the 10th. As for Vanguard Academy Rembrandt, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 53-38 defeat against IDEA Quest College Prep on the 10th.
