The Magee Trojans will take on the Mendenhall Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
If Magee beats Mendenhall with 16 runs on Monday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. Magee beat Hazlehurst on Tuesday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 16-3. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Marli Parker spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on three hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Maycie Smith was incredible, firing off two home runs, two stolen bases, and three runs while going 3-for-5. Another player making a difference was Saphira Troney, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI.
Magee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .649. They are 2-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Mendenhall had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They blew past the Bearcats 19-4. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won nine matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.
Mendenhall got a massive performance out of Corrine Allen, who scored three runs and stole Four bases. while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those four stolen bases gave Allen a new career-high. Tyleigh Williams was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.
Mendenhall's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Magee, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.
Monday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Magee hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .408. However, it's not like Mendenhall struggles in that department as they've averaged .439. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Magee might still be hurting after the 19-1 defeat they got from Mendenhall in their previous matchup on March 3rd. Will Magee have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
