Basketball Game Preview: Hammond Morton Governors vs. Crown Point Bulldogs

Hammond Morton is 0-10 against Crown Point since February of 2016 but things could change on Tuesday. The Hammond Morton Governors will head out to challenge the Crown Point Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m.

Hammond Morton is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Warsaw on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Hammond Morton came up short against Warsaw, falling 76-53. While losing is never fun, the Governors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 228th, while the Tigers are ranked 25th).

Meanwhile, Crown Point had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They breezed past the Indians to the tune of 80-49. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 20 points or more this season.

Hammond Morton's loss dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Crown Point, their victory bumped their record up to 17-2.

Hammond Morton lost to Crown Point on the road by a decisive 67-48 margin in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Hammond Morton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
