The Greendale Panthers will take on the New Berlin West Vikings at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
If Greendale beats New Berlin West with 14 runs on Thursday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Panthers walked away with a 14-9 win over Pewaukee on Tuesday. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Pirates recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Greendale got a massive performance out of Abby Brinkman, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave Brinkman a new career-high. Macey St. Lawrence was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4.
Brinkman wasn't the only one making solid contact: Greendale kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask New Berlin West). They put the hurt on Pius XI Catholic with a sharp 11-4 win on Tuesday. The Vikings not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 15, 2024.
Gillian Konrath made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. Konrath was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4. That stolen base was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Serena Klein and Chloe Wegehaupt did most of the damage at the plate: Klein went 4-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI, while Wegehaupt scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5. That triple marked the first that Klein hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Izzy Freisleben, who scored a run while going 2-for-5.
Greendale's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for New Berlin West, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.
New Berlin West's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Greendale has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .535. It's a different story for New Berlin West, though, as they've only averaged .323. Will they be able to contain Greendale's hitters?
Greendale took their victory against New Berlin West in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0 score. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
