Softball Recap: Las Vegas Comes Up Short

After flying high against Durango last Monday, Las Vegas came back down to earth. The Las Vegas Wildcats came up short against the Cimarron-Memorial Spartans on Wednesday, falling 24-11. The Wildcats have struggled against the Spartans recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meetings.

Alexia Chavez was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Amanii Darby, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Having lost for the first time this season, Las Vegas fell to 2-1. As for Cimarron-Memorial, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Las Vegas Wildcats face off against Desert Pines Jaguars at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Desert Pines will need to watch out since Las Vegas has now posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season. As for Cimarron-Memorial, they will welcome Southeast Career Tech at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
