Basketball Recap: Fairmont Comes Up Short

Fairmont played a tough contest on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Hoggard Vikings, falling 39-17. The Golden Tornadoes were down 31-10 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Tristan Shivers was the offensive standout of the matchup as she posted 14 points and five rebounds. Avery Fitzgerald was another key player, putting up six points and five boards.

Fairmont's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Fairmont won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Purnell Swett at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hoggard, they are taking a road trip to face off against Seventy-First at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
