Baseball Recap: Jerome Starts Season with Win Against Caldwell

Jerome gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They blew past the Caldwell Cougars 15-2.

Lane Arellano and Caleb Jones did most of the damage at the plate: Arellano scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances, while Jones scored two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs Arellano has posted since back in March of 2024. Noah Ramsey was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Jerome always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .657. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Caldwell only posted an OBP of .263.

Looking ahead, Jerome will take on Nampa at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Caldwell, they will head out on the road to take on Boise at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
