Softball Recap: Maranatha Comes Up Short

After soaring to 15 runs the game before, Maranatha was a bit more limited in their matchup on Thursday. They lost 12-2 to the San Marino Titans. The Minutemen were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Titans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2017.

This is the second loss in a row for Maranatha and nudges their season record down to 1-5. Sadly, the team can't blame their woes on tough opposition, as that stretch included 1-6 San Marino and 2-7 Pasadena. As for San Marino, their victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Maranatha will challenge Whittier Christian at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for San Marino, they will square off against Pasadena at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pasadena is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12.4 runs per game this season.
