Baseball Recap: Laughlin Takes a Loss

Laughlin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 12-2 to the Awaken Christian Lions. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Cougars couldn't push the score so high this time.

Delwin Finley made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-2.

Laughlin's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Awaken Christian, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Awaken Christian beat Laughlin by a score of 34-18 later that day.
