Volleyball Recap: Holmes' Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Eight

Holmes put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Northeastern Eagles. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 last Monday.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Holmes took every set by at least ten points. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-15, 25-15.

Mariah Miller paced Holmes' offense, picking up 11 kills. Miller got some help from Harper Evans and her 25 assists. Evans was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Holmes' victory bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Northeastern, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

After both having extra time off, Holmes and Currituck County will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Northeastern, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Perquimans at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
