Baseball Game Preview: Harding Knights vs. St. Paul Central Minutemen

Harding hasn't had much luck against St. Paul Central recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Knights will host the Minutemen at 4:30 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Harding is headed into Monday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Friday. They lost 18-0 to Como Park. The game marked the first time this season in which the Knights were not able to get on the board.

Harding saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Oxley, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one double.

Meanwhile, St. Paul Central fell victim to Owatonna and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They came up short against the Huskies, falling 10-0.

St. Paul Central's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Harding, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

St. Paul Central's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Harding hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .312. It's a different story for St. Paul Central, though, as they've only averaged .242. Will they be able to contain Harding's hitters?

Harding suffered a grim 25-6 defeat to St. Paul Central in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
