Softball Recap: Vincent Takes a Loss

The matchup between Vincent and Shelby County on Friday hardly resembled the 4-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Vincent Yellow Jackets lost 15-5 to the Shelby County Wildcats. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Yellow Jackets have suffered since May 8, 2024.

Vincent saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaci Wallace, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Another was McKenzie Fields, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Vincent's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Shelby County, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Looking ahead, Vincent will venture away from home to face off against Childersburg at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Vincent is facing Childersburg at the right time seeing as Childersburg is stuck on a four-game losing streak. Shelby County has already played their next matchup (against Handley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
