Volleyball Recap: Sanger West Takes a Loss

Sanger West managed to slip by Hoover the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Hornets came up short against the Patriots on Tuesday, falling 3-0.

Sanger West took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-10, 25-13, 25-23.

Addison Muehlhaus paced Sanger West's offense, picking up nine kills. Muehlhaus were helped by Ariel Vang and Maddilynn Villarreal Puga, who contributed seven assists each.

Hoover's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alejandra Espino, who had eight digs and six assists. That's the most digs Espino has posted over her last ten matches. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Vang, who had five digs and three aces.

Sanger West has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 19-16 record this season. As for Hoover, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 25-9.

Sanger West wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Edison on the 16th. As for Hoover, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Madera on the 16th.
