Basketball Recap: AZ Compass Prep Takes a Loss

If AZ Compass Prep was feeling good fresh off their 83-43 takedown of ASU Prep Poly on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Dragons fell 74-66 to the BASIS - Chandler Bobcats on Thursday. The Dragons have struggled against the Bobcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

BASIS - Chandler got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Wilson Hilgaertner out in front who posted 20 points. Matthew Akpan was another key player, putting up 19 points.

AZ Compass Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for BASIS - Chandler, they pushed their record up to 9-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, AZ Compass Prep will head out on the road to take on West Phoenix at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for BASIS - Chandler, they will welcome BASIS - Scottsdale at 4:45 p.m. on Monday.
