Football Game Preview: Halls Red Devils vs. Knoxville Central Bobcats

After each having a week off, the Halls Red Devils and the Knoxville Central Bobcats will shake off the rust and duke it out on Thursday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 872 yards in their previous games.

Halls is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their matchup last Friday with ease, bagging a 49-15 win over Karns. The victory was familiar territory for the Red Devils, who have now won three contests in a row.

Halls got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Amari Lethgo out in front who threw for 298 yards and four TDs while completing 88.2% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave Lethgo a new career-high in passer rating (167.3). Brody Rogers was another key player, picking up 66 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

Meanwhile, it was close, but last Friday Knoxville Central sidestepped McMinn County for a 24-21 victory.

Halls better keep an eye on Kaden Long. He was instrumental in Knoxville Central's win, rushing for 121 yards and one score on only 15 carries, while also throwing for 301 yards and a pair of TDs. Their leading receiver Javaston Badgett was Long's top target yet again, picking up 113 receiving yards and one touchdown.

The win got Halls back to even at 3-3. As for Knoxville Central, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.

Everything came up roses for Halls against Knoxville Central in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 40-3 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Bobcats' Daniel Sackie, who rushed for 136 yards while picking up 7.6 yards per carry.
