Basketball Game Preview: SkyView Academy Hawks vs. Forge Christian Fury

SkyView Academy hasn't had much luck against Forge Christian recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Hawks will take on the Fury in a holiday battle at 10:30 a.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, SkyView Academy beat Platte Valley 53-49. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hawks.

SkyView Academy can attribute much of their success to Brady McGrath, who shot 80% from the field en route to 19 points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Cole Feeney, who posted ten points.

Meanwhile, Forge Christian got the win against Montrose on Saturday by a conclusive 61-41. Given the Fury's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while the Red Hawks are ranked 97th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Forge Christian's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for SkyView Academy, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

SkyView Academy was taken down by Forge Christian 82-40 in their previous matchup back in January of 2022. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Hawks were down 50-17.
