Bloomfield is a perfect 7-0 against Northwest Catholic since November of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Warhawks will be playing at home against the Lions at 6:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Bloomfield sitting on three straight wins and Northwest Catholic on five.
Bloomfield is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 54-34 margin over Plainville on Friday. The matchup was close at halftime, but the Warhawks turned on the heat in the second half with 24 points.
Bloomfield found their leader in sophomore Lamont Applewhite, who rushed for 65 yards and one score.
Bloomfield didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Plainville to a completion percentage of just 40.5%. The Warhawks weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 53.3%.
Meanwhile, Northwest Catholic beat Rocky Hill 14-7 on Friday. Those 14 points were actually the fewest the Lions have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.
Northwest Catholic had a senior duo take command as Vincent Burbank threw for 212 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 78.6% of his passes and Kayden Davis picked up 101 receiving yards and two TDs. Davis is crushing it when it comes to receiving yards: he's posted at least 101 every time he's taken the field this season.
Northwest Catholic's defense made their presence known, laying out Mason Margiotta four times. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Caiden Reese and Obinna Chidiadi, who each picked up 1.5 sacks apiece. Reese was another major factor on D, picking up 1.5 sacks, forcing one fumble, and making eight total tackles (4.0 for loss).
Bloomfield now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Northwest Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 5-0.
Bloomfield beat Northwest Catholic 34-21 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Will the Warhawks repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
