Softball Recap: Harrisburg Comes Up Short at Home Against Reading

Harrisburg unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 19-2 to the Reading Red KNights on Wednesday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it seven in a row.

Mable Thompson was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in both of her plate appearances.

Reading now has a winning record of 3-2.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Harrisburg Cougars duke it out with East Pennsboro Panthers at 4:15 p.m. on the 27th. As for Reading, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 15-8 defeat against Lebanon on the 21st.
