Baseball Game Preview: Tennyson Lancers vs. San Lorenzo Grizzlies

Tennyson hasn't had much luck against San Lorenzo recently, but that could start to change on Monday. Tennyson will be playing in front of their home fans against San Lorenzo at 4:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

Tennyson's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against Mt. Diablo as Tennyson made off with an 8-0 win. The contest marked the Lancers' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Tennyson saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Ceja, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, San Lorenzo put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Redwood Christian 9-2. While the Grizzlies didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Rogelio Hernandez made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3. Those four runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Marco Nunez was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. David Pena was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

San Lorenzo always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .512 or higher in eight consecutive games dating back to last season.

The win got Tennyson back to even at 3-3. As for San Lorenzo, they pushed their record up to 7-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Tennyson couldn't quite get it done against San Lorenzo in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 7-4. Can Tennyson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
