Basketball Game Preview: Classen SAS Comets vs. Bishop McGuinness Fighting Irish

The Classen SAS Comets will square off against the Bishop McGuinness Fighting Irish at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Classen SAS knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Bishop McGuinness likes a good challenge.

Classen SAS took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Duncan 76-32. The Comets' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Classen SAS found their leader in sophomore Josiah Morales, who went 9 for 15 on his way to 24 points and three steals. Morales' evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Wilson, who posted nine points in addition to six assists and four steals.

Meanwhile, Bishop McGuinness suffered their biggest defeat since December 16, 2023 on Tuesday. They took a blow against North Rock Creek, falling 74-45. The loss was the Fighting Irish's first of the season.

The victory got Classen SAS back to even at 2-2. As for Bishop McGuinness, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-1.
