Soccer Game Preview: Zion-Benton vs. Stevenson

Zion-Benton hasn't had much luck against Stevenson recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Zee-Bees will be playing in front of their home fans against the Patriots at 6:30 p.m. Zion-Benton has given up an average of 4.2 goals per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Zion-Benton is headed into Thursday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their tenth straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against Libertyville, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, Zion-Benton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 290th, while Libertyville are ranked sixth).

Meanwhile, Stevenson unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They and Warren Township finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw. The result kept Stevenson happy, as they haven't lost a game since April 19th.

Zion-Benton's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. Stevenson's draw makes their record 8-3-3 this season.

Zion-Benton suffered a grim 8-2 defeat to Stevenson in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Zee-Bees were down 6-0.
