Basketball Recap: Highland Tech Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Highland Tech's game on Thursday was all tied up 26-26 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell 48-43 to the Central Academy of Technology & Arts Cougars. The Rams were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Highland Tech lost, don't look at Irvin Thompson. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with ten points and 12 rebounds. Thompson has also also been stellar as far as shooting accuracy is concerned: he's posted one of at least 60% every time he's hit the court this season. Coleman Schafer was another key player, putting up eight points.

This is the second loss in a row for Highland Tech and nudges their season record down to 1-4. As for Central Academy of Technology & Arts, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-2.

Looking ahead, Highland Tech will be playing at home against Bessemer City at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Central Academy of Technology & Arts, they are taking a road trip to square off against Gray Stone Day at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
