Highland is on a seven-game streak of home wins, while Potomac School is on a seven-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Hawks will host the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Highland had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Flint Hill on Tuesday. The Hawks put the hurt on the Huskies with a sharp 13-3 win. The victory continues a trend for the Hawks in their matchups with the Huskies: they've now won eight in a row.

Weston Lillard looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Joey Rogers, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since April 5th. Another player making a difference was Brooks Graham, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Highland was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .441. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .346 or higher in seven consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Potomac School took on St. Andrew's Episcopal on Tuesday. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over the Lions.
Potomac School also got a great performance from Gavin Speigel as he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.
On the hitting side, Jake Adamec was incredible, going 4-for-5 with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Potomac School is 6-1 when Adamec posts two or more runs, but 5-7 otherwise. Jason Seeber was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Potomac School has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Highland, their victory bumped their record up to 22-5.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. Highland hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Potomac School struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Highland skirted past Potomac School 5-3 in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Will the Hawks repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
