Softball Recap: Ferris Extends Winning Streak to Two

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Ferris walked away with it. They never let the North Dallas Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 15-0 win on Friday. The Yellowjackets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by six runs or more this season.

Landri Davis made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Tori Cook was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Aubrie Henson was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Ferris hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 6-1-2 when they post two or more strikeouts.

The victory made it two in a row for Ferris and bumps their season record up to 14-12-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for North Dallas, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-9.

Looking ahead, Ferris will challenge Sanger on Saturday. The Yellowjackets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Indians have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. North Dallas does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
