Volleyball Recap: Caverna Comes Up Short

Caverna was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 21st straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 2-0 to the Barren County Trojans. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, with their most recent loss being a 2-0 defeat on Saturday.

Caverna may have fallen short, but they were sure consistent: they scored 19 points in every single set they played. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-19.

Jayanah Nuckols paced Caverna's offense, picking up five kills. Nuckols got some help from Jordyn Bethel and her seven assists. Nuckols was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Caverna's loss dropped their record down to 0-17. As for Barren County, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.

Caverna has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Hart County on the 16th. As for Barren County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Allen County-Scottsville on the 16th.
